DITRA150 provides four key functions in one high-performance solution: uncoupling, waterproofing, vapor management, and load distribution. Its unique design features a polyethylene membrane with a grid structure of square cavities, which are specifically engineered to neutralize in-plane stress between the subfloor and tile. This prevents cracks in the substrate from transferring to the tile surface—ensuring a more durable and resilient installation.
Additionally, DITRA acts as a reliable waterproofing layer, ideal for wet areas such as bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, and basements. When combined with Schluter’s waterproofing accessories like KERDI-BAND, DITRA150 creates a fully waterproof tile assembly that complies with industry standards.
For substrates with potential moisture concerns, DITRA's air channels allow vapor to escape, preventing damage to tiles due to trapped moisture. This makes it an excellent solution over concrete slabs, particularly in below-grade applications.
Despite its comprehensive protection, DITRA150 is only 1/8" thick, making it perfect for renovation projects where minimal height buildup is desired. It’s suitable for use over a variety of substrates, including concrete, plywood, OSB, and heated floors (radiant heating systems).
